Sorry if I seem to be mining your blog for material lately, but you're Johnny-on-the-spot with local Democrats.

PosterChild42, I am not a Republican. I am a registered Libertarian of a conservative bent. The difference may be too fine for some eyes, but it's very real. And important. But if you believe I want to see the Democrats reduced to minor party status, well... yeah. ;-)Michael Roy Hollihanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15275044959782899550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102867.post-1122505002075405352005-07-27T17:56:00.000-05:002005-07-27T17:56:00.000-05:00The only reason Republicans say things like "Democ...The only reason Republicans say things like "Democrats need to accept being the minority party for a generation" is that they hope it will discourage us. If you look around on liberal blogs, you'll see the troll and Republican defender population increasing. This is because they are in BIG trouble. They insist on defending treason and most regular Americans, regardless of their party affiliation, are NOT okay with treason.PosterChild42https://www.blogger.com/profile/06851538561113765885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102867.post-1122443234210165052005-07-27T00:47:00.000-05:002005-07-27T00:47:00.000-05:00I don't think I'd go that far. But I know where he's coming from.

I just want to see how all of this plays out.Chris Davishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13864372432838869697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102867.post-1122442920035529162005-07-27T00:42:00.000-05:002005-07-27T00:42:00.000-05:00Mike, i don't necessarily want to be the minority ...Mike,

i don't necessarily want to be the minority party for a GENERATION, but you hit it on the head. These DLCers are trying to govern when they have NO power, and you can't triangulate unless you control something, and in Washington, we control NOTHING.

We have to learn to be an opposition party as well.

By the way, I never have thanked you for your comments at Half-Bakered; that got me off my ass and writing again, just in time for the Convention. I appreciate it.Steve Steffenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08104688163653632284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102867.post-1122442333391931022005-07-27T00:32:00.000-05:002005-07-27T00:32:00.000-05:00The whole DLC idea worked only because of the char...The whole DLC idea worked only because of the charisma of Bill Clinton. Most Democrats still don't understand that he was a once-in-a-lifetime person and no one else can repeat his success. Certainly not the hard-on-the-ears Hillary, who is brittle and false.

Democrats need to accept being the minority party for a generation (as in the Republicans during the Sixties and Seventies) and watershed. Come up with core principles for the 21st century, instead of defining themselves against Republicans.Michael Roy Hollihanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15275044959782899550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102867.post-1122420163569191982005-07-26T18:22:00.000-05:002005-07-26T18:22:00.000-05:00Gee, you're no fun!Someone we both know (your boss...Gee, you're no fun!

Someone we both know (your boss) suggested to me earlier today that Hillary is the national version of Junior, and I agree with him.

Unless she's willing to ride herd on Al From and Will Marshall, this looks like a potential problem for those of us who want a progressive.

It seems to me like there are progressives who are willing to look the other way for HRC, and I don't understand it.Steve Steffenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08104688163653632284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9102867.post-1122419688388370902005-07-26T18:14:00.000-05:002005-07-26T18:14:00.000-05:00Don't slay, TAME.Don't slay, TAME.Chris Davishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13864372432838869697noreply@blogger.com
