While Tami Sawyer and the #takeemdown901 movement (which I consider myself to be part of) where certainly key in making the removal of these offensive statues happen, I think it would be remiss to not acknowledge Mayor Jim Strickland's role in making it happen. The administartion was obviously engaged in behind the scenes negotiations to transfer the properties and make the removal possible despite the TN Assembly's Historic Commission. Kudos to ALL involved.

Absolutely! There is room for everyone on this train except the SCV, who got run over by that train, and deservedly so.
