"The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. ”

I've been thinking about Buck Owens today
and then I saw a clip from the Hee Haw marathon, where Bakersfield's greatest citizen was duetting with Ray Charles on "It's Crying Time Again". I tried to find it on YouTube, but no luck.
So, you'll have to accept these videos of Buck, Don Rich and the Buckaroos.
I saw Buck play once at Loretta Lynns ranch off of I-40 at Hurricane Mills. Wow what a show! Buck,Hank and George Jones are what country music is suppose to be. There's way to many "pretty boy" types out there today.
I think about Buck once a day, every day, all day long. To borrow from Bill Anderson (by way of Connie Smith).
ReplyDeleteWOW, Something we actually agree on! BUCK is the STUFF!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks....
ReplyDeleteNow WE are watching the Hee Haw Marathon and remembering our youth!
I love this show!
