A legend is gone. The Possum has left us at 81

Here is what is considered to the greatest song in the history of Country Music, performed on Austin City Limits. Thank you, George Jones.
I read recently that he hated that song and didn't want to record it because it was too depressing and he didn't think anybody would buy the record or play it in the radio. They practically had to drag him into the studio to record it, according to accounts.
He later said the three minute song resurrected a 40 year career, or something to that effect.
