It's getting bad out there, folks

The Mississippi is apparently flowing BACKWARDS, folks.  The latest projections are that the Big Muddy will crest here on May 10 at 48 feet, just .7 short of the 1937 record.
I thought of this...

This sent in from JR Lind of the Nashville Post, who had problems accessing the comments:

The headline on the story you link to says "Mississippi river flowing backwards" not "Mississippi River flowing backwards" (see the difference?) and in the text says [emphasis mine] "The Mississippi River continues to rise, so much so that its tributaries are starting to flow backwards ... It’s a site not often seen; the Wolf River and Nonconnah Creek are flowing backwards."

"This is a terrible situation, no doubt, but for the Big Muddy to flow backwards, the Gulf of Mexico would have to be flooding (I honestly have no idea if this is even possible) and even then, it would have to be at some apocalyptic Gulf flood to back up all the way up river to Memphis.

Prayers to you and the rest of West Tennessee "
