Kurita starting to draw national attention.

Well, Autoegocrat, you really started something with this post. It is a ringing endorsement of the Clarksville state Senator, who is giving Harold the Younger all the fight he DIDN'T expect, and had the cojones to show up at our lovely Convention three weeks ago.

Now, Scott Shields over at MyDD.com insists that the Kurita campaign has a chance to defeat Ford next August; we'll watch and see. Read the post AND the comments and judge for yourelf.

This is my favorite quote about Ford
"He says he is a centrist Dem working to replace partisan politics with fresh ideas and a pragmatic approach to the challenges of the twenty first century."

Ha, Ha, Ha. The only pragmatic approaches Ford uses are for his own political advancement. New campaign slogan, Ford is so ffrreesshh! His TV ads should be based on that laundry soap commercial series with the little bear. Ford should have his head superimposed on the bear and he should fall into big laundry baskets of fluffy, fresh-smelling bathroom towels.

If Ford hadn't so thoroughly abandoned any progressivism in his being, I might be more favorable toward him.

Right now, NEITHER of them look that good to me.

I am very confident Harold Ford Jr. will be the 2006 Democratic nominee. All this talk about Kurita is being facilitated by right wing blogs and blogs that have a vendetta against Congressman Ford. Heck, Kurita spent more than she raised last quarter anyway. If that continues, there is no way she could even make it to the '06 primary. Harold Ford Jr. is talking about the issues that matter the most to Tennessee and America. His rhetoric does not ring hollow either. He puts rhetoric into action as demonstrated by his brilliant record for the past 9 years in the House.

Another point made is that many people who claim to support Kurita doesn't even know what she stands for. She claims to be a 'real' Democrat, yet she sponsored a ban on gay marriage, is running on her love of guns, and has opposed further investigations into the Downing Street Memos in relationship to the Iraq war.

Harold Ford Jr. is a moderator in the U.S. House right now in a time of bitter partisanship. That is the kind of leadership Tennessee needs right now. Congressman Ford is the right man for the job.

Mr. Jackson, welcome to the blog, I hope you'll return.

Young Mr. Ford is trying to be a "moderate", I agree. What I believe is that MORE partisanship is needed, not less.

You don't fight werewolves (republicans) by reaching out to them, you shoot them will silver bullets! Every time we try and move to the middle to meet them, they move further to the right, and an endless cycle continues.

Sir, I am a LIBERAL and proud of it. That might get me shot in south Middle Tennessee, but I believe that's the base of the Democratic Party. The party that neglects its base LOSES. Ask Karl Rove.

Other than that, please come back to the blog, we welcome all Democrats.

I am also a liberal, but I respect other Democrats who have opposing views than mine. Harold is a Democrat from thick to thin. However, he makes up his mind on things based on how he feels in his heart and what is good for his people, which is the right thing to do as an elected official. He is not going to be a Bill Frist/Howard Dean, who are both by all measures, party hardliners.

I hope after the primary is over, we all can come together and unite behind Harold as one party, because as you know, that is what all good Democrats do.
