Newscoma saves the day!

First, RE the last post, things are on schedule, but no, we're NOT getting married, not yet.

Now, the reason I'm here. I was getting melancholy about the fact this is my 16th Mother's Day without my mother, when I went to our beloved 'Coma's site and found THIS.

Your mother was a wonderful woman.

The mom thing is tough. I have two friends I had to check on this mother's day. My buddy John and a youngster I took under my wing, Adam.

This was both of their first Mother's day without their mom. John is a few years younger than me, about 40. He lost both parents to Cancer in five month's time. His mom being the last as he cared for her himself as she died.

Adam is eighteen, lost his mom to Cancer three months ago. He was 17 at the time.
The kid is suffering tremendously inside.

I am continuously beset by strong feelings for those who miss their parent on these holidays.
Lost my dad in '95, but still have mom at 81.
I consider myself very fortunate to have her around.

LWC, 'Coma, others are a good legacy for a mom to leave behind. Doing good things and making her proud.
In the end, powerless over life and death, that's all we can do.

That's what I told Adam. Hope I'm right.

Blessings....
