"The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. ”

Bob Tuke stepping down as TDP Chair
Sean Braisted has the storyon Tuke's departure and an interesting possible replacement: Gray Sasser, son of former Senator Jim Sasser.
The TNDP Executive Committee (which is comprised of members elected in each State Senate District) will choose the replacement. I'm not sure exactly when they meet next, but that is when the new leader will be elected. If you have feelings either way, I recommend you contact you Exec Committee representative (if you have one).

That's a real bummer.
A legacy of fighting for the people of Tennessee is what Tuke will take with him.
I hope he runs for Senate one day.
I second that; I was very impressed with him, he's a tough, smart guy...
And so who votes on that?
How does that get done?
Bob Tuke seemed ok to me the couple of times I've seen him.
What's the lowdown on Gary Sasser and this other guy?
Brass
