"The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power. ”
— Franklin D. Roosevelt
From my view I believe that Rep. Cohen does make his decisions and makes statements based on his own sound integrity and good decision making policy on behalf of the public's interest. I'm not sure at all that a characterization of him as a weasel is fair whatsoever. I agree, in Washington you don't want to have a perfect solution an enemy to getting on the right track. He wants universal health care, and he also wants to be a honest man.
Make that 3. While the content of the post and the content of the linked item weren't that extreme, the headline/tag is misleading.
It's one thing to advocate that the people press the leaders from one side in order to give them cover for what they would probably LIKE to deliver if the numbers were right. It's another thing to become the Commercial Appeal of the blogosphere and have a headline that's more inflammatory/misleading/whatever than the actual post. It's naive to think that there won't be a great many people who just read the caption.

It is not right to accuse Congressman Cohen of being a weasel. I agree with the 10:04 PM post.
