Harwell defeats Casada for Speaker, Could THIS Be The Reason Why?

I hope so.

So just what do you propose to do about these issues? Yep, more and more and more government-sponsored programs that will magically swoop in, save the state and leap tall Republicans on the way to having justice for all. By the time you get through leaping over the Lords of Nashville, however, those you wish to help may not have a place to sleep.

So, againg you present NO concrete solutions, except that we're all bastards and we deserve this, so why bother.

You know the GOVERNMENT is the only institution capable of doing this because they are the only ones with the resources. If they can't do it, who can?

The Government that over the course of two adminstrations bailed out GM, 2hich then offered an IPO most Americans couldn't get a peace of while countries both in the Mid-East and Asia were able to get sizable shares? The government that even with Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress and holding the white House couldn't come up with tax penalties for moving jobs out of the country? The Government that had to "pass the bill to know what it says"? On the other hand, I would suggest the voters give Casada the oppurtunity to "just get a job" ASAP.

Of course I've offered solutions in the past and I'm glad to see you're taking my previous questions about specifics to heart. Nice rhetorical try and worthy of a kudos (I hate the term "shoutout," in part presumably since the first person I heard use it was Her Majesty the Know-Nothing Half Governor). Are we all bastards? Of course we are: we are incomplete beings trying to think of ourselves as complete and that fundamental rupture inevitably causes us to behave in the ways you describe. Does that mean, however, that we need necessarily be bastards? Of course not: we can existentially choose, say, to take food to the food bank or, say, remember that for all our pronouncements about "social justice," it does no good to those who metaphorical houses are burning while we fiddle THE INTERNATIONALE. Since you asked, however, can you cite a centrally-administered government program outside of Social Security that has done exactly what is was supposed to do without any adverse consequences? Medicare was supposed to only cost 9 billion dollars by the year 1991 (it didn't). Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were federally-subsidized programs and look what happened there. I am sure, of course, that you would not argue for the efficacy of those lovely modern complexes known as Cabrini-Green and the Robert Taylor Homes. Perhaps you would refer instead to those equally nurturing complexes just beyond downtown Memphis on Union Avenue? If you believe in government distribution, show me an example of where its goals have worked. You won't find much of anything but dependency, debt and, as daniel Patrick Moniyhan said forty-five years ago, generations of dysfunction and human pathology.

Govt's goals, and the success and/or failure thereof, depend entirely on who's running the show....

As far as Casada and Harwell are concerned....

It really matters not which one of them is "SOTH". They are both Republicans and therefor of no use to anyone other than themselves as they drink deeply from the public trough and return nothing to the communities they represent.

Though I must say that Casada's asshatterness doth exceed that of his inter-party rival.
