This is is why I'm proud to have Steve Cohen as my Congressman

No matter how many times Fox13's Ernie Freeman tried to goad Steve into responding to the Mayor with an attack, he never did, he was as cool as the other side of the pillow, to steal a Stu Scott phrase. Here's the video, H/T to Kleinheider:

That's a great clip and exactly why I support Cohen. He's done such an outstanding job in Congress.

I don't have much money, but before this post I read the Flyer interview. I have decided I'm going to give up a lunch out or buying a bottle of wine and give a few dollars toward Cohen's campaign every time WH calls him out of his name or plays the race card. Anyone want to join me?

One of the few genuine Democrats in this state.
You folks in TN-9 should be very, very proud of the way you've supported Steve-o and I for one am forever in your debt for keeping this great American in office.

Very sincerely, Kona.

Another thing, go over to the Flyer and read/hear the Herenton interview if you haven't, especially the part where he makes light of the plight of rape victims. You know, last time Cohen faced that fake feminist Tinker and Tinker briefly got the support of Emily's List. Maybe the Emily's List-ers can make up their error by supporting the re-election of Steve Cohen this time, and maybe women voters/campaigners should play the gender card against Herenton, a candidate who has contempt for victims of sexual assault.

Well said, anon.

And I'll be more than happy to say what Mr. Cohen has too much class to say. Herenton is punk. Just another slimy little punk who is out of style and out of time. He offers Tennessee nothing but stumbling ineffectiveness and humiliation. Kinda like a black George Bush, if you will.

The sooner Tennessee moves beyond the intellectual bankruptcy that is Herenton and his ilk the better.

anon is right about one thing; Cohen should HAMMER Herenton about the rape center fiasco using video of herenton's own callous words. "is this the kind of represetnation women of the 9th distrcit want?" that kind of thing. If he needs to go negative at all. Otherwise, Cohen shouldn't even respond to herenton's slurs.

I think it would have been cool if he'd said, I may be an asshole, but I'm an asshole for Memphis.

Congressman Cohen is a class act, the real thing, a true statesman who deeply cares about his constituents and even those outside his district.

Why would you vote for anyone else?
