And now, the Judgeships

One by one, slowly I turn, step by step, until...

OK, let's review the CONTESTED Judgeships and make endorsements.

Circuit Judge 2 - Curtis Johnson OR James Russell, you pick it. What, I have to do EVERYTHING for you?
Circuit 6 - Jerry Stokes
Circuit 8 - D'Army Bailey
Chancellor 2 - Arnold Goldin
Chancellor 3 - Karen Tyler
Criminal 1 - PAULA SKAHAN!
Criminal 4 - Carolyn Wade Blackett
Criminal 5 - Dewun R. Settle
Criminal 6 - Latonya Sue Burrow
Criminal 7 - LEE COFFEE!
Criminal 9 - Mark Ward
General Sessions 3 - John Donald
General Sessions 4 - REGINA MORRISON NEWMAN!
General Sessions 5 - Evan Nahmias
General Sessions 7 - Tyrone Paylor
General Sessions 11 - Mischelle Alexander-Best
General Sessions 12 - Gwen Rooks
General Sessions 13 - Terrance Tatum
Juvenile Court Judge - Veronica Coleman-Davis
Probate Court 2 - Donn Southern

OK, I talked to more lawyers than just my own attorney, and that's why I picked who I picked, and your mileage may vary.

The three in ALL CAPS of course, were my initial endorsees, made before I went home to Dixon for the celebration. I do urge you to support these folks, as I sincerely believe these are the best choices.

Sunday - CHARTER COMMISSION!!!!!

Blackett in Crim. 4 is a horrible judge. Among many reasons for saying that is the fact she let the guy who broke into my place and my neighbors' off with probabtion.

Jimmy Russell in Cirucit 2 isn't a very good choice either. He let a woman off with fraud and has been known to, at least initially, refuse to grant divorces because in his opinion the couple still loved each other dispite the admitted fact that the wife was sleeping around.

Mischelle Best was an anti-male sexist as the domestic violence court judge. She'd lock the men for dv but not the women.

Veronica Coleman refuses to pledge to clean house at juvenile court. Best choice there is William Winchester.

William Winchester would be the best choice for candidacy. If you have heard him speak, He is true to his word.... His goal is to Bring Families together and clean house in the Juvenile Court. He is an aworthy opponent. You can find that he is sincere and very dedicated to changing the way things are run. He will abide by the Constitution..... He is for the Rights of ALL....

I think for our Next Juvenille Court Judge, the choice is very clear and that Judge should be William Winchester. Him being a Attorney, he sees what goes on in the Juvenile Court. He will clean house, and make sure everyone is treated fairly and protect all rights of ALL..... The Constitution will be upheld to the Fullest...

PAULA S. ISN'T A VERY GOOD CHOICE. DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD KEEP ALOT OF THE SAME PEOPLE, TONYA S WHO'S RUNNING AGAINST PAULA SHOULD BE GIVEN A CHANCE. WHAT DOESN'T SHE HAVE. I CAN'T STAND WHEN SOMEONE SAYS I HAVE HAD MORE EXPERIENCE. JUST CAUSE YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU CAN'T DO A GOOD JOB. AND VERONICA COLEMAN WILL MOST LIKELY KEEP THE SAME CRAP POLICIES IN THE JUVENILE COURT. SHE HAS A LOT OF GREAT EXPERIENCES IN HER LIFE, AND WE ARE PROUD FOR HER. BUT ALL OF THAT DOESN'T MAKE HER MORE QUALIFIED THAN OTHERS. WILLIAM WINCHESTER WILL DO WHAT HE SAYS. HE IS ABOUT THE LAW. GOOGLE WILLIAM WINCHESTER JUVENILE COURT JUDGE, AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT HE IS ALL ABOUT... LETS GET OLD OUT AND MAKE FRESH OF EVERYTHING. ITS TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE!!!!!

Why the hell would you pick Saafir over Skahan? Are you REALLY telling me we need to elect someone who has little experience litigating RUNNING a courtroom? That's nuts.

Larry Henson over Marrero? That' s equally ludicrous. Winchester I don't know, so he might be good, but I prefer coleman.

Kernell is the best we have in Nashville, and that makes no sense to get rid of him.

There's a limit to THROW THE BUMS OUT.

I was at the recent Juvenile Court Judge Debate. All of the candidates admitted that change is needed within the court, except for Curtis Persons. William Winchester is not the best person for the job. The best person is Veronica Coleman. This is no small job and a novice is not needed. Juvenile Court now has around 400 employees. The best candidate needs to have administrative experience, strong leadership skills and moral character. Ms. Coleman has all of these traits. Plus, she has experience within the court and know the flawed areas. She is a strong woman and will allow no injustice to occur in her court.

If you want to learn more about Veronica Coleman-Davis go to her website www.VeronicaColeman.Com. Better yet come to the next Juvenile Court Judge debate. It is scheduled for 7/20/06 from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis located at 1900 Union Avenue. Kids are our future. This Judgeship is truly important to this community's future. Please become well informed before you vote on this race.

The wellinformedlady is not that well informed, since the two male candidates for Juvenile Court Judge are Curtis Person and myself, not "Curtis Persons".

As THE ONLY TRIAL ATTORNEY in the race for Juvenile Court Judge, I am the BEST candidate for the job. I am in the courtroom day in and day out using the law and trying cases. The others have not tried any juvenile or family law cases in over 10 years. They have NO current experience in the courtroom, so how can they even think about deciding a case based on current family and juvenile law?

Regarding other experience the wellinformedlady discusses, while serving our country with the United States Air Force, I managed multi-million dollar defense contracts, led and supervised many officers and enlisted personnel, and was decorated three times for my outsatnding services and achievements.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, a Master's Degree in Education, and a Juris Doctor.

I have argued family and juvenile law cases before the Tennessee Supreme Court and the Tennessee Court of Appeals. In several of those cases, new case law was established as the direct result of my legal arguments.

Who do you want as YOUR Juvenile Court Judge? A former U.S. Attorney who once was a referee under Judge Turner, a former State Senator who is Judge Turner's hand-picked successor, a city court judge who hears traffic ticket cases, or an EXPERIENCED trial attorney who is well learned in the law that the Juvenile Court Judge has to use everyday?

WHY would anyone vote for an UNQUALIFIED and UNEXPERIENCE person over a 20 year EXPERIENCE well respected JUDGE? VOTING for Tonya Saafir you will get the UNQUALIFIED and UNEXPERIENCE. Everyone is talking about the lackers running in other divisions Alica Howell, Carlee, Payor, etc. Why should Division One be any different? I voting for the ones MOST qualified and Experience. I would not vote for someone who does not have the experience in a Criminal Trial for a Criminal Court bench. Why make a A-S out of yourself. The NBA endorsement went to Judge Paula Skahan, that should say something about Saafir since she is a member of the NBA. Saafir is a lacker who just wants the paycheck. Well not on my tax $$
