Yeah, I saw that when I read the indictment. Well, they dismissed the indictments against Shep, so he must not have known...

As for Hooks Jr, it will be interesting to see how this goes..

The indictment-singular- against Shep that was dismissed was concerning the sexual harrassment cover-up. That indictment had nothing to do with these new indictments concerning the embezzlement. Someone in the Clerk's office had to sign the contract with T. Willis and Associates in order for the invoices to be paid or were the checks issued with no contract at all? Either way the contract was unauthorized because according to an audit by the TBI the Mayor did not sign the contract. So who did? If Wilbun signed it then he did so without the proper authority and if he didn't then why did he allow it and why did he issue or authorize someone to issue checks for fraudulent invoices or any invoices in which there was not a legal contract with a company? What exactly was he doing while in office? What was he doing to protect the interests of the tax-payers? It really rases some serious questions as to his leadership when so much criminal behavior occurred during his tenure. The indictment also mentions payments Hooks Jr. and to "others". Could that be Wilbun? It also mentions Catron issuing check requests. Again, where was Wilbun? Wasn't he the clerk? If Wilbun in fact didn't have direct knowledge of this going on since he did hire Catron then he was neglecting his duty of Clerk to uphold the oath of the office to the taxpayers of Memphis, Shelby County, and this Nation. Why should he be elected?

Gee, are there no Republicans in this county worthy of indictment? They have all been democrats, haven't they? Is that because the Republicans are upstanding and the Democrats are not? Or is it because the Democrats are being pursued harder?

Surely, some of the Republicans can get indicted too! Why not investigate some of them. May I recommend the DA start looking at people who take money from convicted cocaine dealers . . . .
