Well, if you read the text he hit a homer. He said things that needed to be said. But you know, where was this speech, the public library with the staff shushing him? His voice was dead and flat, he seemed hesitant and uncomfortable, his facial expressions and gestures stiff. No comparison to the nuanced race relations speech he gave last spring in Philadelphia.
I agree he needs to "tell them the truth, and they'll think it's hell" as Harry Truman said.

But he's also gotta sing it like he means it.
