Vibinc links to a report from THE HILL noting that Nikki Tinker has filed paperwork to run against our Congressman in the 2008 Democratic Primary.
I'm not worried; Steve Cohen has already established himself as a strong progressive leader in this Congress, and he will be ready for any challenge. The African-American community is aware that she hasn't been here long enough to understand the problems of Memphis, and that her record of working for union-busting law firms goes against the grain of what the Democratic Party stands for.
This blog stands by our Congressman.
UPDATE!!!! Jackson Baker reports state Rep G.A. Hardaway is thinking about getting in the race! ?Que?

Political races are a year round, full time business now. I talked to a GOP friend in Senator Jerry Coopers district last night and he said he's already heard of 3 GOPers and 5 democrats who are gearing up for that race this summer if Cooper goes down in the next few days.
Steve Cohen has done a masterful job since his election. Pelosi appointed him to important committees and the DNC should do a strong job of backing him.
America can not afford to lose Steve Cohen.
I love the blog that you have. I was wondering if you would link my blog to yours and in return I would do the same for your blog. If you want to, my site name is American Legends and the URL is:
www.americanlegends.blogspot.com
If you want to do this just go to my blog and in one of the comments just write your blog name and the URL and I will add it to my site.
Thanks,
David
Why do they have to be African-American? Why can't we all be Americans?
SENSE from Austin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A left winger (presumably) who understands that human beings have much, much more in common than those matters which separate us. Lord God, what a relief to read his comment!!!
Why Austin, you old leftie? Who knew?
