Thanks, BCR!

A spirited defense of our friend, Beverly Marrero has come from...

wait for it....

BLUE COLLAR REPUBLICAN!

As it was Thaddeus who first raised the issue of Marrero's education, BCR answers, better than I did below:

But I’ve heard about all I can take of Thaddeus Matthews race baiting and insulting Marrero’s education. I have a lot of respect for Thaddeus, but he has got to get off this GED kick. For your information Thad, I have a GED. Like Marrero, I left High School prematurely (like many in our age group did). Yet I returned to college in the 1990’s a little better prepared than most and did quite well (because I took it seriously). Marrero also went back to college as a working mother. Since then, she has gone on to public service and from what I understand has done very well promoting the liberal agenda of her constituency.

Oh please. People routinely drop out of high school in order to pursue a genuine education. Sometimes they go straight to college based on test scores, sometimes they get a GED first. Graduating from a TN high school is not necessarily evidence of even literacy, let alone an education.

Anyone who has heard Marrero speak knows just how absurd this charge is.

If we're going to talk about uneducated/illiterate legislators, let's talk about Stacey Campfield. I believe he has a high school diploma. And that is something to be embarrassed about.

I finished out High School, and let me tell you, it wasn't worth it. Although I graduated early because I frontloaded my schedule; my senior year consisted of me working full time, getting effed up at night, and sleeping in class the next day. Not exactly worth it. Although, now I'm stuck at Nashville State which has lower quality teachers than my High School. If only they had Red Bull when I went to school :(

Well, and the point Thad and his group seem to miss, is that it was never just about Jake only having a GED. It was about the fact that he had never taken it and done anything more with it. A lot of people get GEDs and move onto bigger and better accomplishments, Jake has not been one of those people.

The G.E.D. point was made by your boy Cohen, about jake. I think it's just a little turn about, The facts are Marrero is in a job she shouldn't be in, except for the fact the Cohen belittled the better opponent in Jeff Sullivan and was not called on it? Then he did the same bully and berate tactics on Jake or Joke as some and I call him, that time he was a joke for sure. It’s plain to see that Jake wasn’t the brightes of bulbs of the shelf, he did do the same thing Marrero did however? What, how’s that you ask? He left school got a G.E.D. then attended some college classes as well. Before being asked to leave. Marrero said she attended some classes before she left with poor G.P.A. Then Jake went back to what he knew he could fall back on. Daddy and da we are family. Marrero fell back to another sugar Daddy there are plenty of comparisons if you want to get right down to it. Both thought they could get ahead by using the political route. They both had serious connections and played them to the hilt. During the election between Marrero and Sullivan Marrero didn’t utter twenty words instead she just let Steve berate Jeff till a fly would not light on him. Jeff himself only had a G.E.D. I probably will vote for Marrero because Spence is on the wrong side of everything. There is no choice? Gallagher should have stayed in nobody will support him for Dist. 89. He should start looking for the city council ? I letting all my neighbors know!
