I'm number 11 with a bullet!

Our friends at BlogNetNews Tennessee have come up with a ranking system on the state's most influential blogs. Not surprisingly, #1 is held down by KnoxViews, home of one R. Neal, formerly known as South Knox Bubba. Mr. Neal is one of the major reasons I decided to blog in the first place.

However, this blog showed up at #11, far higher than I would have guessed; however, as I am linked at KnoxViews, as well as Volunteer Voters and other statewide blogs, I guess I'm not surprised.

Thaddeus came in at #7, the highest of the Memphis blogs, and Wintermute's Daily Docket showed at #18. No Pesky??? ?Que?

Don't get me wrong, I am delighted to be ranked that highly, and Mute and Thaddeus deserve to be there. However, to my mind, The Flypaper Theory, where Pesky, Jeff, Autoegocrat, the mighty Kibitzer and our beloved Christian Progressive Liberal practice their craft, should be among the state's elite, IMO.

Oh well, I'll be happy to be on this list, and I need to get off my ass and post some more to stay on here.
UPDATE: Apparently BNN-T had not even listed them, but Dave at BNN has now, thanks for reading!

Perhaps no one at The Flypaper Theory received the invitation email. No matter, enrollment is open:

"Want your blog listed on the front of Tennessee BlogNetNews? Think your blog should be part of BNN? Put a link to us in your blogroll and send an email with your feed's url to editor@blognetnews.com and we'll fix it."

I checked, and that aggregator doesn't even have us listed at all. According to it, we don't exist.

Kinda throws off the rest of the results a bit, doesn't it? I wonder who else is missing.

Just scanning the list, I don't see Mediaverse on there, nor any of the other journalist-owned blogs.

Congratulations LWC, your site is where reading blogs and becoming a blog junkie began for me.

I also agree with you about TFT they are some fantastic informative writers and they should have made the list.

Well, you are the dean, sir. But thanks. I didn't know who the hell they were either.

I've never put much stock in blue ribbons and big trophies. I know God thinks we're all number one and that's all that really matters, really.

When you get nominated for the Blogger of the Year, I'll come to the banquet. When you get nominated for the State House, I'll put a sign in my Illinois window. When you run for Governor, I'll buy a t-shirt and quote send you a list of Shakespearean insults to hurl at your opponent. Congrats--

I don't believe anything on the internet or on blogs. You are #1 in my book. Good luck.

What am I? Chop liver?
And Tennessee Guerilla Women, too?

Neither of us made the list.

Remember that blog site a couple of years ago that was handing out "awards" like candy for Tennessee's Best Blogs? Same deal. You have to join the club before they'll give you an award. You get some meaningless "award" and the other site trades your content and traffic for ad revenue.

Are they sharing any of their revenue with the "winners?"

Sheesh. Idle flattery wins out every time.
