Now, on to politics. Bill Dries was on the case tonight at the IBEW, as the SCDP elected the rest of their officers tonight. Among those elected:
1st VC - Desi Franklin
2nd VC- Cherry Davis
Secretary - Reginald Milton
Treasurer - Barbara Williams.
And now, for the craziness, which DIDN'T happen at the IBEW: Per the above story, wrestling promoter/announcer Corey Maclin has announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Shelby County Clerk. What, Jimmy Hart wasn't available?
Enough, I'm going to bed now.

I don't know nothin' about Corey Maclin but was suspicious that he is hanging around Latroy Williams who ran for Trustee as an independent but called himself a "real Democrat," whatever that is, and then sued the Democratic Party.
The Primary Board/SCDP should pull Corey Maclin's voting record, as well as, anyone else running on the ballot to see if they are Democrats or something else. If they are something else (Republican, Independent, etc.), then the Board/SCDP needs to know why they are running on the Democratic Ballot, and if they have a democratic voting record, the Board/SCDP still need to know more about them.
FYI: The Primary Board/SCDP has the power to remove a person from running as a Democrat if they can prove that person is not one or is not going to be loyal to the Party.
Is Latroy an exec. comm. member?

Apparently you were only HALF listening to ole Del Gill as he spoke last night at the Party Meeting about the POWER OF PARTY to control its PETITIONS? Very Good none the less for you and DEL GILL!
Your half LISTENING... well ole DEL would NEVER have advocated "removing a candidate" for something that they "MIGHT DO!!!"
PS: Latroy is a MEMBER of the EC! IN Desi's and Cardell's haste to insure that the Rose Bradley* type of REPUBLICANs had great lattitude to participate in the CONVENTION... they narrow-mindedly failed to "excluded" ANYBODY who had run against a DEMOCRAT in 2008, not just REPUBLICANs but INDEPENDENTs TOO! IF they had listened to ole DEL GILL on the proposed rules versus being petrified by his wisdom and experience... this would NOT have happened.
* Rose Bradley - was the Committeeman (House District 96) expeled last night for having voted in a Republican Primary in 2008 in direct violation of the Rules of the just concluded 2009 Convention held under the auspices of the State Party.
To 11:04pm aka Del:
incoherent as usual... this is the kind of anal-retentive microdetailed garbage you come up with frequently. These rants force everyone involved with the party to tune you out.
Was there not a 3rd vice chair and steering committee?
1957, 1982, 1993, 2005 and 2009. If, as the NCAA does, count the Helms--unfortunate name--Tournament championship in 1924, that makes 6 titles for UNC (and, o Duke fans, please don't sit there and say it doesn't count. John Wooden won a Helms tourney at Purdue I believe in 1931 or 1932, so if it's good enough for him, it works for UNC). 1991, 1992 and 2001 makes 3 for Dukedom. True, UNC lost in 1946, 1967, 1977 and 1981. Need I remind all Dukedoms, however, of your losses in 1964, 1978, 1986, 1990, 1994 and 1999. If I'm counting correctly, that makes 5 championship game losses for you to 4 for UNC. Since we have also been to 18 Final Fours to your--I believe--14, we are ahead in every major good category while you're ahead in every bad one.
SO THERE!!!!!!!
PS: The Cracker is right for once here when he indicates that UNC would have beaten our beloved U of M rather handily. At least Coach Williams make his players shoot free throws in practice--
How can you trust (or refute) any statement under "Anonymous" ?
DAvid:
3rd vice chair- Howard Richardson
Secretary: Reginald Milton
Treasurer: Barbara Williams
By the way, congratulations dad.

Why isn't the exec. comm. questioning who reviewed the district Rose Bradley was in during the credentialing process? It's amazing that after the vote for chairman, all of a sudden someone mentions that this woman is a republican.
All of the exec. comm. members who live in republican districts need to be checked again. This smells really fishy.
At least 2 people have reviewed all EC members for their 2008 voting records. Del was one of them and his findings concur.
Only one person was found and she is not longer on the committee.
It would not have made any difference if this individual had been excluded prior to being elected to the EC, there would have been another Van supporter elected.
Why don't you take the EC list, split it into whites & blacks, and then triple check the whites- I think that is what you really want.
Heck - do it 4 times, 5 times - the findings won't change.
Unless, now that the Republicans control the Election Commission they scrubbed the records. Of course, that must be the explanation -they just missed the one record.
It is the only logical conclusion.
