Harold, you may be a SOB, but I guess you're MY SOB after all.

I give up.

The Cracker surrenders.

I came to the conclusion that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and Bob Corker is a far bigger enemy than Harold Ford, because of who Bob is and who he represents.

Bob Corker represents the party of incompetence, malfeasance, depravity, and avarice. How do I know this? Well, the Goopers sent out a fund-raising mailer with a DARKENED picture of Ford to their membership, and in typical lying-piece-of-shit fashion, DENIED it.

Tom Humphrey of the Knoxville News-Sentinel broke the story, but then Rick Maynard of the River City Mud Bugle did fabulous follow-up work to prove that the Gooper weasels were liars. Go check it out here.

Then, after speaking at the Downtown Kiwanis Club, Ford was asked about the Gooper ad that showed him partying with Playboy bunnies. His response:

"I'm not going to take a lecture on morality from a party that took hush money from a child predator."

Now THAT's how you fight back, that's damn near Clintonesque, and I'm not talking about Hillary, either.

Mr. Ford, this does NOT mean you get a free pass, in fact, if I run into you this campaign season, we're going to have a little talk about that torture vote, as well as the numerous other wrong-headed votes you have made.

However, as Vito Corleone once said:

But -- that aside -- let me say that I swear -- on the souls of my grandchildren -- that I will not be the one to break the peace that we have made here today...

So, I guess you can put a sign in the yard after all.

Ahem... What was it I said about liberals not having enough anger to spread around? :-)

That's just dirty, dirty, dirty politics. Corker deserves a cockpunch for that one.

He may as well have said, "Did you know that Harold Ford Jr. is black?

I hope this signals the beginning of the end of the "one drop" rule.

Old, true cutting saws aside-- as a friend just pointed out to me-- the enemy of my enemy can also be my enemy.

As much as I'm inclined to believe that the Goopers would stoop so low, I'm not convinced this wasn't just a crap printing job: a copy of a copy of a copy.

I was just about to say I disagree with all 'o y'all until I read what Pesky said.

While y'all are suckin' Jr.'s dick to show your anti-white-racist cred, see if you can get him to endorse the Democratic nominee for the Ninth Congressional District of Tennessee.

I'm still not going to vote for Ford. If Corker wins, no skin off my nose because at least then I'll KNOW that the guy in office is going to try and screw liberals and progressives and I can act accordingly.

I won't be able to hold Corker's feet to the fire anymore than I could Harold's. If Jr. wins, he'd just do whatever he wanted because having won, he'll know that liberals can be counted on to do the "right thing" for someone with a D behind their name no matter how much that person has screwed them already.

I've seen the mailing first-hand. In fact a copy is posted on my blog. It's a crappy black-and-white photo. Do you expect Corker to use the best photo he can find? Get real.

If you ask me, the text of the letter is nastier than the picture. Read and weep.

How about the nasty commercial Ford's doing, with "hidden camera" video of Corker outside the courthouse or something, shot from a car across the street, intended to make him look like a sneaking crook.

If this stuff freaks you out, you shouldn't be indulging in politics. It's the way the game is played.

By the way: "Not paid for or authorized by the candidate..."

If any of you want a better quality version, send me an email and I'll reply with the PDF I made. Blogger won't let me post it.

No, it's a TRP piece, I believe. I understand why none of you will vote for Junior, and I'm not thrilled myself.

I will still bust his balls over Cohen until he does the right thing.

Brassmask said...

But LWC,

He's programmed to take the busting of balls. If you DO happen to see him or talk to him in person and you DO break his balls, then he'll pass it off and say something that he thinks will assuage you for the moment and he'll "consider it" or something and then he'll think that he's golden and go on and do whatever and not endorse Cohen.

And the Cohen endorsement is just the tip of the iceberg for me and I suspect it is for a LOT of progressives.

Also, I checked out that photo and I don't know if it was Photoshopped or not but it does appear that even if it is crappy printing, they WANTED it to look darker. Or else why wouldn't the type look at weird as well as the crappy over-copied photo?

But another question for you I have is now that you've said you won't break with Ford, what if he comes out and does something outrageous in the next few weeks? Say he does something Liebermanesque? How will you react? Will you consider something like that coming from him and him breaking the peace between you?

Sorry you are giving up Cracker, I'm not. I cannot vote for a "Democrat" who does not support the Democratic Party and supports a Republican Amendment to write discrimination into the U.S. Constitution, not to mention all the other conservative positions he has...
I'd love to vote for him, I wish I could, but I cannot. Yes, I hope he beats Corker, but it will not be with my vote.
I'm still voting for the only progressive candidate in the race, Chris Lugo.
