Jesse Helms has rounded third and is headed for HELL.

Jesse Helms, who combined racism and anti-Communism with a flair the likes of which have not been seen before, has died at the age of 86. If you think this title is bad, go to AmericaBlog to read some of the lovely utterances that this disgusting supposedly-human being has made over the years.

While, of course, I feel for his family, who had to carry the weight of this bully around with them, I do not mourn his passing, not in the slightest. He represented the very worst that America has to offer, and that he left on July 4 before we elect our first black president is meaningful, I think.
