I received the sad news that Rep. Larry Turner, who represented his Whitehaven and South Shelby County District for 24 years, passed away this morning at the age of 70.
His work on behalf of his district was tireless, and his work helped Memphis, Shelby County, and untold thousands more who may never have known him. He was a true gentleman with a deep affection for the people he served, and we are all better for his having served.
Please remember his family, especially his devoted wife Ms. Johnnie Turner, another tireless servant of this community, when you pray tonight, our thoughts go out to them.
Arrangements are not known at this time, I will update this as soon as I hear of them.
